Yellow Boom is a modern Capsicum chinense hybrid from the USA, bred for its explosive heat and vivid golden colour. A descendant of 7 Pot and Scorpion lines, it delivers the tropical fruitiness of a yellow superhot with a clean, sharp burn that doesn’t overwhelm flavour.
Pods are short, lumpy, and slightly pointed, around 4–5 cm long, ripening from green to brilliant golden yellow. The flavour is sweet, citrusy, and floral, followed by an intense, lingering burn that peaks close to 1 million SHU. It’s perfect for hot sauces, powders, and pickling, giving both visual brightness and serious heat.
Plants are bushy and prolific (70–90 cm tall), producing dense clusters of pods through late summer. They thrive in warm, sunny conditions, and perform well in greenhouses or sheltered outdoor beds.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants reach full maturity in about 110–120 days, fruiting heavily until early autumn.
