Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : The Netherlands
Chilli Heat : Sweet (No Heat)
Ramiro Yellow is a sweet pepper cultivar of Capsicum annuum, developed in the Netherlands as part of the Ramiro line bred for exceptional sweetness, crunch, and reliability. Although sometimes sold under chilli categories, it contains no heat at all, making it a perfect choice for those who want the shape and look of a chilli with the flavour of a sweet pepper.
Pods are long and slender — typically 20–25 cm — ripening from green to a brilliant yellow with a glossy skin and thick, juicy walls. The flavour is remarkably sweet, fruity, and crisp, often described as one of the finest-tasting sweet peppers. Ideal for grilling, roasting, salads, and stuffing, the variety is popular among both home gardeners and commercial growers across Europe.
Plants are tall and vigorous (80–100 cm), producing consistently large yields through summer. They perform well in both greenhouses and warm outdoor gardens, with good disease resistance and steady fruit set.
Seeds germinate best at 25–30 °C, sprouting within 10–14 days. Plants mature in around 80–90 days and crop heavily until autumn.
