Chilli Name : HABANERO PERUVIAN YELLOW
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Peru
Chilli Heat : Very Hot
Habanero Peruvian Yellow is a South American habanero variant originating from Peru, where local chinense strains have been cultivated for centuries and show a distinct fruity, floral profile. This yellow form is prized for its clean flavour and strong, consistent heat.
Pods are lantern-shaped but slightly more elongated than typical Caribbean types, ripening from green to bright golden-yellow. Heat is very hot, around 250,000–350,000 SHU, with a crisp, citrusy bite and a lingering burn. The flavour is vibrant and tropical — excellent for sauces, ceviche, and fresh salsas.
Plants are medium-sized (70–90 cm), vigorous and heavy cropping, producing long flushes of pods across the summer season.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 100–110 days, thriving in warm or protected environments.
