Description

Chilli Name : ROBERTINA SWEET PEPPER
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : Serbia
Chilli Heat : Sweet (No Heat)

Robertina Sweet Pepper is a traditional Serbian variety of Capsicum annuum, valued for its thick-walled pods, sweet flavour, and versatility. Commonly grown in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, it’s used for both fresh eating and roasting, where its deep red colour and rich taste shine through.

Pods are long and slightly curved, around 12–15 cm in length, ripening from green to glossy red. The flesh is thick, juicy, and very sweet, with no heat. Its flavour intensifies when roasted, making it ideal for ajvar, stuffed peppers, salads, and preserves — classic dishes throughout the region.

Plants are medium-tall (70–90 cm) and highly productive, often setting fruit continuously through summer. It performs well in both open-ground and greenhouse growing, tolerating cooler climates better than most Mediterranean types.

Seeds germinate best at 25–30 °C, sprouting within 10–14 days. Plants mature in about 80–90 days and remain productive until late summer.
