Jalapeño Sweet is a low-heat jalapeño variety bred to capture all the trademark flavour of a true jalapeño without the fiery burn. It’s perfect for those who love that rich, earthy, slightly smoky jalapeño taste but prefer a gentler experience — ideal for stuffing, grilling, or pickling whole.
Pods are thick-walled, glossy and plump, around 7–9 cm long, ripening from dark green to deep red. Flavour is full and aromatic, with a pleasant sweetness and a mild warmth that rarely exceeds 1,000–2,500 SHU. The balance of flavour and texture makes it excellent for fresh salads, mild salsas, and chargrilled dishes.
Plants are sturdy and productive (60–80 cm tall), producing heavy yields over long, warm summers. The variety performs well in greenhouses, containers, or open ground, thriving in sunny, sheltered positions.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 90–100 days, providing a steady supply of pods ideal for both kitchen and garden display.
