Reaper × Butch T Scorpion is a modern superhot hybrid, created by crossing two of the fiercest chillies ever developed — the Carolina Reaper (HP22B) and the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T. The result is a monstrous Chinense cultivar that combines the Reaper’s twisted tail and fruit-forward aroma with the Scorpion’s oily texture and blistering intensity.
Pods are heavily wrinkled and bulbous with a pointed stinger, ripening from green to deep red. The flavour is fruity, slightly floral, and fiery from the first bite, delivering a rapid, long-lasting burn often tested at 1.8 million SHU or higher under ideal conditions. It’s one of the few crosses capable of matching or exceeding the Reaper’s ferocity while retaining good yield and stability.
Plants are medium-sized (70–100 cm), producing dense foliage and a steady crop of large, bumpy pods. Best grown under cover or in a greenhouse for full heat potential, it thrives in warm, humid conditions and requires consistent feeding once fruiting starts.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants reach maturity in about 120 days, continuing to bear fruit well into late summer.
