Description
Chilli Name : 7 POT YELLOW
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Trinidad
Chilli Heat : Superhot
The 7 Pot Yellow is a classic colour variation of the legendary Trinidadian 7 Pot family. Known for its extreme heat and bright pods, it shares the same fierce fire as the red original but ripens to a vivid golden yellow, making it a striking addition to the garden.
As with all 7 Pots, the name comes from the Trinidadian saying that a single pod is hot enough to season seven pots of stew. The Yellow strain keeps that reputation alive, producing heavy yields of fiery pods with the same wrinkled skin and irregular shapes seen across the family.
Plants typically grow 90–120 cm with a branching habit and produce good crops of medium to large pods. The bright colour makes them stand out, and they are often chosen by growers who want a bold visual contrast alongside other 7 Pot strains.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, with germination usually taking 10–21 days. In UK conditions, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is recommended for consistent ripening. Plants usually take 110–130 days from sowing to harvest, with pods maturing late in the season.
