Purple UFO – Giant Queen is a select Cayenne-type chilli developed by Jukka “Fatalii” Kilpinen of Fatalii Seeds (Finland), bred from the popular Purple UFO line for larger pods, improved yield, and balanced heat. It combines the classic UFO’s visual appeal with Cayenne-style performance — making it both decorative and highly practical in the kitchen.
Pods are elongated and slightly flattened, with a subtle UFO curve, measuring 8–10 cm long, ripening from dark purple to deep red. The flavour is sweet, crisp, and lightly smoky, with medium heat around 20,000–30,000 SHU — a true Cayenne profile with an added fruity note. Perfect for fresh cooking, drying, or sauces, it delivers colour, flavour, and dependable heat in one variety.
Plants are tall and prolific (80–100 cm), producing heavy yields of colourful pods throughout the summer. Like its parent strain, it shows purple stems and flower markings under strong light, giving it ornamental charm while remaining fully culinary.
Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 95–105 days and produce heavily into late summer.
