Gusto Purple is a modern UK-bred ornamental and culinary chilli, developed for both appearance and flavour. It’s part of the Gusto range of compact chillies known for reliable cropping, bright colours, and easy pot growth.
Pods are small, upright and conical, ripening from deep purple to red through striking colour stages. Heat is mild to medium, around 10,000–20,000 SHU, with a clean, crisp annuum flavour that makes it useful in the kitchen as well as decorative in the garden.
Plants are compact (25–35 cm), branching freely and producing heavy flushes of colourful pods across the summer — perfect for pots, patios, or indoor growing.
Seeds germinate best at 26–28 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in 80–90 days, rewarding growers with long-lasting colour and steady production.
