Description

Chilli Name : PEPERONCINO RED
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : Italy
Chilli Heat : Medium

Peperoncino Red is a traditional Italian chilli grown throughout southern Italy and Sicily, where it’s used fresh, dried, or preserved in oil to add warmth and depth to countless dishes. It’s the chilli that captures the soul of Italian cuisine — flavourful, balanced, and full of character.

Pods are small and slender, 5–7 cm long, ripening from green to rich red. The flavour is bright, slightly sweet and tangy, with medium heat around 20,000–40,000 SHU — just enough to lift a dish without overwhelming it. Commonly used in pasta sauces, seafood, and infused oils, it’s the chilli that brings “piccante” to Italian food.

Plants are compact and productive (50–70 cm tall), ideal for pots, garden beds, or balcony growing. The prolific yields and uniform pods make it a reliable and rewarding variety for any cook or grower.

Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 90–100 days and produce continuously through summer.
