Kristian Cayenne is a modern cayenne-type chilli developed for consistent pod size, strong plant structure, and dependable production across a range of growing conditions. It’s a solid, reliable performer for growers who want traditional cayenne heat and flavour without the unpredictability of older open-pollinated lines.
Pods are long and slightly curved, averaging 12–15 cm in length, ripening from deep green to bright red. The flesh is moderately thick, drying evenly and holding its colour well when ground or flaked. Flavour is clean, earthy, and slightly sharp, with hot heat typically around 30,000–50,000 SHU — classic cayenne warmth that enhances sauces, powders, and pickles without overwhelming them.
Plants are upright and productive (70–90 cm tall), forming dense clusters of hanging pods. The Kristian line is valued for its vigour, uniform ripening, and adaptability, making it suitable for greenhouse or outdoor growing across Europe.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 95–105 days, yielding heavily through late summer.
