Chilli Name : KILLIAN CAYENNE
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : USA
Chilli Heat : Hot
Killian Cayenne is a high-yielding cayenne variety developed for both home and commercial growers, offering the classic cayenne flavour with improved uniformity, pod length, and productivity. It represents the modern evolution of the traditional Indian S4 Cayenne, combining dependable heat with thicker flesh and stronger plants.
Pods are long and slender, around 12–15 cm in length, ripening from glossy green to bright scarlet red. The flesh is slightly thicker than that of traditional cayennes, giving a stronger bite and better drying quality. Heat is hot, typically 30,000–50,000 SHU, with a clean, sharp burn and earthy undertone — perfect for making powder, flakes, and hot sauces.
Plants grow upright and bushy (70–90 cm tall), producing heavy yields of pods that hang downwards in traditional cayenne style. The Killian line is known for its reliability across a range of climates and excellent pod uniformity, making it a good fit for drying, commercial production, or fresh use.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 100 days, cropping heavily throughout late summer.
