Jay’s Yellow Ghost Scorpion is a vibrant yellow variant of the original hybrid created by American grower Jay Weaver, who first crossed the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) with the Trinidad Scorpion. This version carries the same twisted, stinger-tailed shape and ferocious heat — but adds a bright citrusy flavour and glowing golden colour that stands out among superhots.
Pods are rough and heavily wrinkled, 5–7 cm long, ripening from light green to rich yellow. The heat is superhot, consistently over 1,000,000 SHU, delivering an intense, instant burn that lingers long after eating. Beneath the fire lies a surprisingly fruity, lemon-like flavour, making it superb for hot sauces, powders, and spicing fruit-based dishes.
Plants are vigorous (90–120 cm), producing dense canopies loaded with gnarly pods through a long summer season. The yellow form often produces slightly higher yields and matures a touch earlier than the peach original, while keeping the same trademark scorpion tail and heat intensity.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 110–120 days and perform best in greenhouses or warm, protected sites.
