Chilli Name : DEVIL’S BLOOD DROP
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Modern breeder strain (likely USA)
Chilli Heat : Superhot
Devil’s Blood Drop is a modern superhot variety, instantly recognisable for its small, pointed pods that hang like drops of blood. The name comes from both its shape and its deep red colour, which gives the pods a dramatic appearance.
Pods are small, teardrop-shaped, and very wrinkled, ripening from green to an intense crimson red. Despite their small size, they pack superhot heat, in line with other chinense superhots, delivering a searing, long-lasting burn. Flavour is fruity at first but quickly overtaken by the heat.
Plants are compact to medium-sized (60–80 cm) but extremely productive, often covered in dozens of small hanging pods, making them as striking visually as they are powerful in the kitchen.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants require 110–120 days to reach maturity, with heavy cropping through the summer under warm or protected conditions.
