The Borg 9 Yellow is a superhot bred in the UK by Jon Harper, a variation of his Borg 9 line originally created from crosses involving the 7 Pot Bubblegum. The Yellow strain carries the same extreme heat and wrinkled pod form but ripens to a vibrant golden yellow, adding visual appeal alongside blistering firepower.
Pods are gnarly and twisted, ripening from light green to bright yellow. The flavour has fruity citrus tones more typical of yellow superhots, though the heat is still overwhelming for most palates.
Plants are strong, branching chinense types, typically reaching 90–120 cm tall with heavy pod production across a long season.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants usually require 100–120 days from sowing to first harvest, with greenhouse or polytunnel conditions recommended in cooler climates to achieve full ripening.
