Description
Chilli Name : AJÍ CREAM FANTASY
Chilli Species : Baccatum
Chilli Origin : Finland
Chilli Heat : Mild to Medium
The Ají Cream Fantasy is a modern chilli bred in Finland by Jukka Fatalii, developed as a unique variation of the original Ají Fantasy line. While its roots lie in the South American baccatum family, this variety is entirely Finnish in origin, showing how traditional genetics can be reimagined through careful breeding.
Pods are elongated and slightly pointed, usually 5–8 cm long, ripening from green to a pale cream colour. They carry a mild to medium heat with a fruity, tangy flavour that makes them versatile for sauces, salsas, or fresh use. Their creamy pods also add novelty and visual contrast in the garden.
Plants grow vigorously, often reaching 100–120 cm, and produce heavy yields across a long season. With their unusual colouring and reliable cropping, they are popular among growers looking for something different yet dependable.
Seeds germinate best at 25–28 °C, usually sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants typically take 90–110 days from sowing to first harvest. In UK conditions, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is recommended to achieve consistent ripening.
