Description
Chilli Name : 7 POT LAVA YELLOW
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Trinidad – USA
Chilli Heat : Superhot
The 7 Pot Lava Yellow is a blistering superhot bred from the legendary Trinidad 7 Pot line, developed further by breeders in the USA. This strain takes the extreme heat of the 7 Pod family and turns it up yet another notch, making it one of the fiercest yellow chillies available.
What makes the Lava Yellow special is its combination of brutal fire with a bright, citrus-fruity flavour. The pods ripen to a vivid yellow, often elongated and bumpy, delivering a sharp burst of heat alongside zesty fruit notes. Compared to other yellow 7 Pots, the Lava tends to be hotter and punchier, making it a favourite among sauce makers who want both colour and raw power.
Plants typically grow 90–120 cm tall with a dense, branching habit. Yields are strong, with medium-sized pods ripening from green to bright yellow late in the season.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, with sprouting usually in 10–21 days. In UK conditions, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is strongly recommended. Plants normally take 110–130 days from sowing to harvest, with fruits appearing in late summer.
