Description
Chilli Name : 7 POT BUBBLEGUM YELLOW
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Trinidad – USA
Chilli Heat : Superhot
The 7 Pot Bubblegum Yellow is a bright and eye-catching twist on the famous Bubblegum line, developed in the USA from the Trinidadian 7 Pod family. It carries the same legendary heat and fruity character as the original red strain, but with pods that ripen to a vivid yellow.
As with all Bubblegum types, the variety is known for its unusual “bleeding calyx” trait, where the pod colour creeps into the stem. This striking feature, combined with the sunny yellow fruits, makes the plant stand out in any grower’s collection.
Plants grow to around 90–120 cm with a bushy habit and produce medium-sized, wrinkled pods that ripen from green to bright yellow. The flavour is sharp, citrus-like, and fruity, offering a slightly different profile compared to the red or chocolate strains. Heat levels remain firmly in the superhot category.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, typically within 10–21 days. In the UK, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is recommended for consistent ripening, though large pots in a warm sheltered spot may succeed in hot summers. Plants usually take 110–130 days from sowing to harvest, with fruit maturing later in the season.
