Jalapeño Summerheat is a reliable, heat-stable jalapeño variety bred for strong growth and high productivity in warm climates. It produces traditional thick-walled pods with that unmistakable jalapeño aroma and burn, making it a superb all-rounder for cooking, pickling, or grilling.
Pods are 7–9 cm long and firm, ripening from deep green to bright red. They have a classic jalapeño flavour — crisp, grassy, and slightly smoky — with medium–hot heat around 8,000–10,000 SHU. The thick flesh makes them ideal for stuffing, slicing, or chargrilling, as they hold their shape beautifully when cooked.
Plants are strong and upright (70–90 cm tall), thriving in full sun and hot conditions. True to its name, Summerheat performs consistently even during heatwaves, producing heavy clusters of pods over a long season.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 90–100 days, cropping continuously from midsummer to early autumn.
