Description
Chilli Name : JALAPEÑO BILLY BIKER
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : USA
Chilli Heat : Hot
Jalapeño Billy Biker is a modern American-bred jalapeño variety, developed for those who love the traditional jalapeño flavour but crave extra heat. Created by the legendary chilli breeder Ed Currie (of Carolina Reaper fame), it was named in tribute to a biker friend who loved his chillies strong and full of punch.
Pods are thick-walled, glossy and large — 8–10 cm long — ripening from dark green to rich red. Flavour is bold, smoky, and slightly sweet, with a clean heat that sits above standard jalapeños. Heat levels reach up to 30,000–40,000 SHU, nearly triple that of a regular jalapeño, making it ideal for those who want a proper kick in salsas, nachos, and grilled dishes.
Plants are vigorous (70–90 cm tall), high-yielding, and quick to crop. The pods are perfect for stuffing, grilling, or making hot jalapeño sauces, as they retain shape and flavour beautifully when cooked.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 90–100 days, cropping heavily in warm conditions.
