Hot Beads Turkish is a traditional Turkish chilli variety known for its compact growth, glossy bead-like pods, and balanced heat. It’s a versatile type often grown both as a culinary and ornamental plant, reflecting Turkey’s long history of cultivating chillies for colour, flavour, and beauty.
Pods are small and round, resembling beads or small pearls, ripening from deep green to bright red. Despite their size, they pack a pleasant medium heat (around 20,000–30,000 SHU) with a clean, slightly earthy flavour. The pods dry well and are commonly used in Turkish cooking, especially in stews, pickles, and spice blends.
Plants are compact (30–40 cm tall), bushy, and covered in clusters of colourful pods through the summer. Their dense habit and constant ripening make them a great choice for pots, patios, or decorative gardens.
Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 90–100 days, producing steady crops and bright ornamental displays.
