Goat Horn Turkish, known locally as Sivri Biber or Aci Biber, is a traditional Turkish chilli grown widely across the country for its rich flavour and dependable yield. The name comes from the long, curved shape of the pods, which resemble a goat’s horn.
Pods grow 12–15 cm long, ripening from green to deep red. Heat is medium, typically around 15,000–30,000 SHU, with a clean, slightly sweet flavour that holds well when dried or grilled. It’s a popular choice for Turkish kebabs, pickling, and sauces, forming part of the everyday culinary culture throughout Turkey.
Plants are tall and productive (80–100 cm), branching freely and producing heavy crops of long pods through the summer.
Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants reach maturity in 90–100 days and crop steadily in warm or protected conditions.
