Description
Chilli Name: CAROLINA REAPER CARAMEL
Chilli Species: Capsicum chinense
Chilli Origin: USA (South Carolina)
Chilli Heat: Superhot
The CAROLINA REAPER CARAMEL is a colour-variant of the well-known CAROLINA REAPER, classified as a superhot chilli with extremely high heat.
Pods begin green, then mature through shades to a caramel/brown-red colour rather than the typical bright red of the standard Reaper.
Flavour is described as fruity sweet with subtle cocoa or chocolate hints, followed by the signature intense heat — individual pods have been claimed up to around 2,200,000 SHU.
Plants grow bushy, typically reaching around 75–100 cm in height under good conditions, yielding multiple pods per plant; best grown in warm, well-lit environments.
The variety derives from a natural mutation (or colour sport) of the CAROLINA REAPER, which was originally bred by Ed Currie of the PuckerButt Pepper Company in South Carolina.
Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
