Description

Chilli Name : BOLIVIAN RAINBOW
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : Bolivia
Chilli Heat : Medium

The Bolivian Rainbow is a heritage annuum from Bolivia, grown for centuries as both a culinary and decorative variety. It is especially prized for its striking display of multicoloured pods, which appear at the same time in shades of purple, yellow, orange, and red — giving the plant its “rainbow” name. This visual appeal, combined with a lively medium heat, has made it one of the most popular traditional ornamental chillies.

Pods are small and pointed, about 2–3 cm long, with a crisp bite and medium heat level that works well in salsas, sauces, or pickling.

Plants are compact and highly productive, usually 60–80 cm tall, with upright growth and clusters of colourful pods. The combination of dark foliage and multicoloured fruits creates a striking effect in pots or borders.

Seeds germinate best at 25–28 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in 80–100 days and continue producing throughout the summer months.
