Rokita is a Polish-developed sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum) bred for early maturity, high yield, and classic flavour suited to both home and commercial growing. It’s a dependable variety popular across Eastern and Central Europe, valued for its sweet, juicy flesh and consistent performance even in cooler climates.
Pods are short, conical, and thick-walled, about 10–12 cm long, ripening from light green to bright red. The flavour is clean, crisp, and sweet, with no heat — perfect for fresh salads, roasting, or pickling. The fruit holds firm texture even when cooked, making it versatile for kitchen use.
Plants are compact yet vigorous (60–80 cm tall) and very productive, often bearing early crops suitable for short-season climates. Rokita is also noted for its resistance to common pepper diseases and ability to set fruit under variable temperatures.
Seeds germinate best at 25–30 °C, sprouting within 10–14 days. Plants mature in around 75–85 days and continue producing through summer.
