Description
Chilli Name : BHUTLAH YELLOW
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : USA (Bhut Jolokia × 7 Pot cross)
Chilli Heat : Superhot
The Bhutlah Yellow is a rare colour variant of the infamous Bhutlah – a cross between the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) and a 7 Pot strain. Originally developed in the USA, the Bhutlah line quickly gained attention for producing some of the hottest pods ever recorded. The yellow form is less common than the red or chocolate types, but it brings the same blistering superhot heat with a lighter, slightly citrus fruitiness.
Pods are elongated, heavily wrinkled and gnarled, often with pointed tips, ripening from green to a bright golden yellow. The combination of rough texture and glowing colour makes them visually striking and popular with collectors.
Plants are tall and productive for a superhot, usually 90–120 cm, producing good yields of searingly hot pods through the season.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, with sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants require 100–120 days from sowing to harvest. In the UK, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is recommended to achieve full maturity.
