Description

Chilli Name: THAI MOUND
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: Thailand
Chilli Heat: Hot

Thai Mound is a compact Capsicum annuum type associated with Thai chilli forms, recognised for its dense, dome-shaped growth habit and ornamental appeal. It is grown for both decorative use and culinary application, particularly where small, upright-fruiting plants are preferred.

Pods are small, slender, and borne in upright clusters above the foliage. They ripen through multiple colours, typically transitioning from green to yellow, orange, and finally red. The fruits are thin-walled and well suited to drying as well as fresh use.

Flavour is sharp and direct with a clean heat typical of Thai chillies. Heat levels are reported in the range of 30,000–50,000 SHU, placing it in the Hot category. The pods are suitable for stir-fries, sauces, and drying.

Plants are compact, bushy, and form a mound-like shape, producing high yields of upright fruits over a long season. This growth habit makes them particularly suitable for container growing, patio displays, and ornamental planting.

No formally documented breeder or cultivar registration is available for Thai Mound. It appears to represent a selected or descriptive form of Thai ornamental chilli types rather than a widely standardised variety.

Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
