SBS Demon Chocolate is a superhot Capsicum chinense variety developed by the SBS (Seaside Botanicals Seeds) team in Australia, known for creating bold, high-performing chilli crosses. This chocolate variant of the Demon line combines the dark pod genetics of the 7 Pot and Scorpion types, resulting in one of the most flavourful and visually distinctive superhots.

Pods are medium-sized, heavily wrinkled, and bumpy, ripening from olive green to rich chocolate brown. The flavour is deep, earthy, and slightly smoky, with underlying fruit and molasses-like sweetness — followed quickly by a searing superhot burn that lingers intensely. The heat typically measures between 1.2 and 1.6 million SHU, depending on growing conditions.

Plants are vigorous and bushy (80–100 cm tall), producing heavy crops of uniform pods through late summer. They thrive in greenhouse or polytunnel conditions where warmth and humidity remain consistent. Despite the extreme heat, it’s highly regarded among sauce makers for its complex dark flavour and clean afterburn.

Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 120–130 days, with excellent pod set once established.
