Ron’s RRC 420 Moruga is an Australian-bred superhot from grower Ron C. (RRC), created as a selection from the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion line. This strain is known for its thick, oily pods, massive heat, and reliable productivity, all while maintaining the characteristic fruity-floral Moruga flavour.
Pods are gnarled, wrinkled, and often pointed, ripening from green to deep red with heavy oil content on the skin — a clear sign of high capsaicin levels. The flavour is sweet, tropical, and floral at first, before delivering a deep, relentless burn that can exceed 1.4–2 million SHU, depending on growing conditions.
Plants are vigorous and bushy (80–100 cm tall), producing abundant crops of large pods even in moderate climates. Under greenhouse conditions, the pods reach full heat potential, while outdoor plants still perform strongly in warm summers.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in roughly 120 days, cropping heavily into late summer and autumn.
