Cyklon is a Polish heirloom chilli, developed specifically for making paprika and chilli powders. It is one of the best-known Eastern European chillies, bred for its balance of flavour, colour, and moderate heat.
Pods are medium-sized, long and slightly curved, ripening from green to deep red. When dried and ground, they produce a rich red powder with a warm medium heat, making it ideal for sausages, stews, and traditional Polish cooking.
Heat is medium, enough to give warmth without overpowering dishes.
Plants are medium-sized and bushy, producing good yields of uniform pods. They perform reliably even in cooler climates, which helped establish Cyklon as a paprika variety in Europe.
Seeds germinate best at 26–28 °C, sprouting within 10–20 days. Plants need around 90–100 days from sowing to first harvest.
