Description
Chilli Name : JOLOKIA PINK ICE
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : USA (developed from Indian Bhut Jolokia)
Chilli Heat : Superhot
Jolokia Pink Ice is a stunning pastel-hued variant of the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper), developed in the USA from Indian seed lines. It retains the extreme heat and wrinkled ghost pepper form but introduces a truly unique colour phase — shimmering through shades of creamy white, soft pink, and light peach as it ripens, giving the impression of frost or “ice” on the pod surface.
Pods are elongated and heavily wrinkled, typically 6–8 cm long, ripening from pale green to delicate pink-peach. The flavour is fruity, floral, and slightly sweet, followed by a ferocious superhot burn easily exceeding 1,000,000 SHU. Like the original Bhut Jolokia, it delivers a slow-building heat that peaks with intensity but maintains an intriguing sweetness underneath.
Plants grow 90–120 cm tall, bushy and productive, bearing heavy clusters of decorative pods. Despite its ornamental beauty, this is a serious superhot, best handled with care and ideal for creating striking hot sauces, powders, or collector’s displays.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in about 110–120 days, performing best in greenhouses or warm, sheltered environments.
