Description
Chilli Name : HOLIDAY CHEER
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : USA
Chilli Heat : Mild
Holiday Cheer is a decorative yet edible chilli variety developed in the USA, bred for its compact size and stunning colour display rather than raw heat. It’s one of those rare chillies that perfectly bridge the gap between ornamental beauty and practical use — ideal for pots, borders, and windowsills during the festive season.
Pods grow upright in clusters, transitioning through a lively range of colours — cream, yellow, orange, red and deep crimson — creating the bright, festive look that gives the plant its name. Heat is mild, typically below 5,000 SHU, though the thin-walled pods still deliver a light zing that works nicely in salsas or as garnish.
Plants stay compact, around 25–35 cm tall, with dense foliage and constant colour variation throughout the season. Despite being ornamental, the fruit is fully edible and flavourful when harvested early.
Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature quickly, often within 80–90 days, and perform beautifully both indoors and outdoors during warm months.
