Description

Chilli Name : HABANERO TOBAGO
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Trinidad & Tobago
Chilli Heat : Very Hot

Habanero Tobago is a Caribbean habanero variety originating from Trinidad and Tobago, home to some of the world’s most famous chinense chillies. It’s a distinctive island strain, known for its intense heat and rich fruity aroma — a perfect example of the bold flavours typical of the region’s chillies.

Pods are lantern-shaped, medium-sized, and slightly wrinkled, ripening from green to deep red or orange-red. Heat is very hot, usually between 300,000–400,000 SHU, with a fast, sharp burn and strong tropical flavour — a signature of Tobagonian chillies used in local sauces and marinades.

Plants are medium to tall (80–100 cm), vigorous and productive, yielding consistently through long, warm seasons.

Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 100–110 days, cropping heavily under warm or protected conditions.
