Cayenne Long Slim is one of the most recognisable and widely grown cayenne types, valued for its long, thin pods and dependable heat. The variety produces slender pods 12–15 cm long, ripening from green to bright red.
Heat is hot, usually in the 30,000–50,000 SHU range, with the classic sharp Cayenne bite. These chillies dry well, making them a staple for chilli flakes and powders, while also performing well in hot sauces and fresh cooking.
Plants are vigorous and productive, often reaching 75–100 cm tall, with heavy yields across the season.
Seeds germinate best at 26–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants usually mature in 90–100 days, cropping reliably through summer.
