The Brasileira 3 Lobos is a Brazilian chinense variety, best known for its distinctive three-lobed pod shape, which gives it both its name and its uniqueness among South American chillies. It reflects the long tradition of chilli cultivation in Brazil, where varieties with unusual shapes and colours have often been prized for both flavour and appearance.
Pods are small to medium in size, usually forming three distinct lobes, ripening from green to bright red. Heat is in the hot range rather than superhot, with a fruity chinense flavour that balances spice and aroma.
Plants grow to around 70–90 cm tall, branching well and producing a good crop of these unusual pods.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants mature in around 90–110 days from sowing, producing steadily throughout the summer.
