Description
Chilli Name : ARMAGEDDON
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : United Kingdom
Chilli Heat : Superhot
The Armageddon is a British-bred superhot chilli, developed to rival the infamous Carolina Reaper in heat while offering stronger plant growth and earlier maturity in cooler climates. Created by UK growers, it reflects the country’s growing role in breeding some of the world’s hottest chinense types.
Pods are gnarled and heavily textured, often with pointed or twisted tips, ripening from green to bright red. They deliver intense superhot heat along with a fruity, slightly floral chinense flavour. This makes them suitable for extreme sauces and powders, appealing to chilli enthusiasts who seek maximum firepower.
Plants are vigorous and bushy, typically reaching 90–120 cm, with high yields for a superhot variety. They are noted for being earlier to mature compared to other superhots, which is particularly valuable for growers in the UK and northern Europe.
Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, with sprouting in 10–21 days. Plants take 90–120 days from sowing to harvest. In the UK, greenhouse or polytunnel cultivation is strongly recommended to achieve full pod maturity.
