Description

Chilli Name : 7 POT PRIMO CHOCOLATE
Chilli Species : Chinense
Chilli Origin : Trinidad – USA
Chilli Heat : Superhot

The 7 Pot Primo Chocolate is a brutal twist on one of the most infamous superhots ever created. The original Primo was bred in the USA from Trinidadian 7 Pot stock and quickly became recognised for producing pods with wicked “stinger tails.” The chocolate version carries the same fearsome heat and twisted shapes but ripens to a dark brown colour, adding a rich, earthy flavour to its firepower.

Pods are typically knobbly, 5–7 cm long, and often develop long, pointed tails. While the Primo line is famous for this feature, it’s worth noting that tails form when the dried flower doesn’t fully detach, restricting pod growth and forcing it to elongate — meaning tails appear more often under certain growing conditions.

Plants grow 90–120 cm with a strong, upright habit, producing heavy yields late in the season. The dark pods and tail tips give the plant a striking, almost menacing look, making it a favourite among extreme chilli collectors.

Seeds germinate best at 28–30 °C, with germination in 10–21 days. In the UK, greenhouse or polytunnel growing is essential for reliable ripening. Plants usually take 110–130 days from sowing to harvest, with pods maturing in late summer to early autumn.
