Description
Chilli Name: TEQUILA SUNRISE
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: Unknown
Chilli Heat: Sweet
The Tequila Sunrise is a sweet pepper variety associated with ornamental and culinary use, valued for its bright, changing fruit colours. It is part of the same colour-focused breeding group as other “Tequila” peppers, selected for visual appeal as well as usability.
Pods are blocky to slightly elongated with moderately thick walls. They mature through a striking range of colours, typically from pale yellow through orange to red, creating a “sunrise” effect on the plant. Fruits are firm and suitable for fresh use and cooking.
Flavour is mild and sweet with no heat (0 SHU), placing it firmly in the Sweet category. The flesh is crisp when fresh and suitable for salads, roasting, and general kitchen use.
Plants are compact to medium-sized and productive, producing multiple fruits over the growing season. They perform well in containers, greenhouse environments, and open-ground cultivation in warm conditions.
This variety reflects modern breeding focused on colour variation and ornamental value in sweet peppers. While widely recognised in horticulture, detailed breeder attribution is not consistently documented.
Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
