Description

Chilli Name: TEQUILA
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: Netherlands (Commercial Hybrid)
Chilli Heat: Sweet

The Tequila is a commercial hybrid bell pepper developed for its distinctive colour and ornamental appeal. It is widely recognised for producing vibrant purple fruits, making it popular for both culinary use and decorative growing.

Pods are blocky and bell-shaped with thick walls, typical of sweet peppers. They develop from green to a striking deep purple, and will eventually mature to red if left on the plant. The firm flesh makes them suitable for fresh use, salads, and cooking.

Flavour is mild and sweet with no heat (0 SHU), placing it firmly in the Sweet category. The flesh is crisp and juicy, though the purple stage is often harvested for its visual appeal rather than full sweetness.

Plants are compact to medium-sized and productive, producing a good yield of uniform fruits. They perform well in greenhouse and container growing, benefiting from warm, stable conditions.

Tequila is part of modern commercial breeding programmes focused on colour diversity and visual appeal in sweet peppers. It is commonly grown as both a culinary and ornamental variety.

Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
