Species Annuum Origin New Mexico Heat Mild This hybridised cultivar was developed at the New Mexico State University in 1988 by Drs.Bosland, Iglesias, and Tanksley. Its cousins are the Numex Sunset and Numex Eclipse. The pods are 4-6in long and turn bright yellow at maturity. They are used primarily as ornamental chiles. All three cultivars originated from a cross between 'Permagreen' and 'New Mexico 6-4'. They are similar in pungency to 'New Mexico 6-4'.
