Description

Chilli Name : BACCIO DI SATANA (SATAN’S KISS)
Chilli Species : Annuum
Chilli Origin : Italy
Chilli Heat : Medium

The Baccio di Satana, known in English as Satan’s Kiss, is a traditional Italian chilli variety prized in regional cooking, particularly in southern Italy. Its name reflects both its fiery heat and its use in rustic Italian cuisine, where the round, cherry-like pods are often stuffed with anchovies and mozzarella, then grilled or preserved in oil.

Pods are small and round, resembling cherries, usually 3–4 cm in diameter, ripening from green to bright red. Their flavour is rich, slightly sweet, with a lively medium heat that pairs well with cheese, meats, and pickled preparations.

Plants are compact and productive, typically 50–70 cm tall, producing clusters of round pods that stand out for their shape as well as their culinary tradition.

Seeds germinate best at 25–28 °C, sprouting within 10–21 days. Plants take around 80–100 days from sowing to harvest, cropping generously through the season.
