Chilli Name: TSETSKA
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: Bulgaria
Chilli Heat: Medium
The Tsetska is a Bulgarian chilli variety named after Tsetska Iranova, reflecting its origin within regional cultivation. It is a productive, drying-type pepper valued for both yield and practical culinary use.
Pods are elongated and tapered, typically around 11–12 cm long and slender in width. They are borne pendant on the plant and ripen from green to red. The fruits have relatively thin walls, making them particularly well suited for drying.
Flavour is direct with a steady, moderate heat, placing it in the Medium category (5,000–30,000 SHU). It is suitable for general cooking, drying, and grinding into powders.
Plants are compact to medium in size, typically reaching around 45 cm in height and width. They are heavy yielding, producing a large number of pendant fruits over the growing season, making them reliable for both fresh harvest and drying.
This variety is associated with Bulgarian cultivation and carries the name of Tsetska Iranova, indicating a preserved or locally selected line rather than a modern commercial hybrid.
Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
