Description

hilli Name: TRITON
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: United Kingdom (Thompson & Morgan)
Chilli Heat: Unknown

The Triton is a compact chilli variety introduced by Thompson & Morgan, formerly available commercially until the early 1990s. It was developed for small-space growing, with a focus on extremely compact plant size and rapid maturity.

Pods are relatively large in proportion to the plant, typically elongated and measuring around 5–8 cm in length. They ripen from green to red and provide a strong visual contrast against the dwarf plant structure.

Flavour profile and heat level are not documented in recognised sources. No verified Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) data is available for this variety.

Plants are ultra-compact, typically reaching around 20 cm in height, forming a dense, bushy habit. The variety is noted for its fast development, with early flowering reported under favourable conditions, making it well suited to windowsills and container cultivation.

Triton was part of a period of ornamental and compact chilli breeding aimed at home growers. It is no longer widely available and is considered a discontinued commercial variety with limited modern documentation.

Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
