Description
Chilli Name: TEJASWINI
Chilli Species: Annuum
Chilli Origin: India (Mahyco)
Chilli Heat: Medium
The Tejaswini is a commercial hybrid chilli developed by Mahyco (Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company) in India. It is bred for consistent yield, uniform fruiting, and suitability for commercial cultivation.
Pods are elongated, slender, and pendant, typical of Indian cayenne-type chillies. They mature from green to red and have relatively thin walls, making them suitable for both fresh use and drying.
Flavour is direct with a moderate heat, placing it in the Medium category (5,000–30,000 SHU). It is suitable for general culinary use, including fresh cooking and drying into powders.
Plants are vigorous and high-yielding, producing a large number of fruits under warm growing conditions. They are suited to field cultivation as well as managed growing environments.
This variety is part of modern Indian hybrid breeding programmes focused on productivity, uniformity, and adaptability. It represents a commercial cultivar rather than a traditional landrace.
Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.
Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
