This pepper is an edible ornamental variety. The long thin 3in fruits which resemble an eagles claw, grow upright in clusters on a compact plant forming a dramatic display. They matures from light green to a range of reds (90 days). The peppers have a very intriguing hot flavour, eaten fresh or dried for hot pepper powder and flakes. Also know as Japanese hot claw and very similar - if not the same as 'Takanotsume'.
