Species: Frutescens | Origin: India | Heat: Medium This pepper is also known Tezpur and sometimes markeed in the US as Naga Jolokia. This native of India grows into a large plant, nearly 3' tall, and bears huge harvests of pencil thick 3' orange/redfruits that are very hot. A recent issue of Chile Pepper magazine had an article, with the authors' thinking this to be hottest pepper ever measured. The credibility of this statement, however, has been highly argued by pepper experts and remains very much in doubt. The heat is similar to most Thai pepper varieties.
