Species: Chinense | Origin: Puerto Rico | Heat: Medium Also called Cheese or Tomato peppers, the squash type is best known for its flying saucer shaped pods. It is believed to be a Habanero relative and has that sneaky delayed heat although not quite as intense as the Habanero. The Red Squash is an easier to grow pepper than the habaneros and is a quicker more dependable producer. The pods have a nice fruity flavour.
